Amazon set to shake up European insurance

Internet giants Amazon seem to be recruiting insurance professionals in an attempt to enter the insurance market throughout Europe.

Amazon has apparently targeted the British, German, Spanish, French and Italian insurance markets. Capitalizing on its reputation for outstanding customer services and new technology (prime), something which the insurance industry on the whole is often lagging behind.

Global Data’s 2017 General Insurance Survey discovered 18% of consumers would buy home and/ or motor insurance from Amazon, moving away from a traditional approach to insurance simply because, “that’s the way it’s always been done”.
